IT is for me - Educational Programe

In Romania, girls perform better in sciences but lose interest in STEM studies after 7-10 years. The educational project "IT is for me" aims to motivate children to opt for STEM studies, aiming to also reduce gender stereotypes in choosing the educational path, and to contribute to raising awareness of climate change through a series of workshops that combine science with information technology in order to create solutions to protect the environment. 125 students, of which 50% are girls, will benefit from a very interactive and practical introduction to the world of IoT (Internet of Things) to discover the digital world.

“It is for me” is for me about balance, confidence, and dedication: balancing gender diversity in a predominantly male area, confidence that each of us individually and through communities can influence the future of the planet, and the dedication to take clear, coordinated actions for these values to come to life, to become concrete. I can't wait to be a volunteer myself, to tell stories about the project and the beautiful experiences we will have. Ioana Grigore, Head of HR @Orange Services- program manager The project will start in 5 schools in Romania in September 2023 and will benefit from the help of over 25 volunteer mentors. VERTIK Association for the Future is the newest Think Tank in Romania dedicated to public policies for sustainable development and the recovery of the post-pandemic economy. Women for Tech Romania Association has been active in our country since November 2022. With the opening of the division in Romania, our country has joined the mission of the global Women in Tech organization to support 5 million girls and women in tech by 2030. Women in Tech is a world leader among organizations for inclusion, diversity, and equality in STEM. The non-governmental organization counts over 250,000 members worldwide with divisions on 6 continents. With its headquarters in Paris, Women in Tech is a global movement that currently holds divisions in 45 countries.

The "Support an NGO!" Program is a fund of the Orange Foundation that provides funding for philanthropy projects proposed by Orange employees and developed with a non-profit organization so that they can learn to coordinate a project, learn to look for alternative funding resources for the projects they believe in, learn to communicate a project, develop the ability to identify solutions to basic social problems, increase the degree of personal satisfaction
